AIHR Certificate Programs

AIHR Certificate Programs help you build practical skills and expertise in specific areas of HR. Each program is 100% online and self-paced, so you can complete your learning at the pace that works best for you.

Throughout a Certificate Program, you’ll learn through video lessons, practical assignments, real-world case studies, quizzes, and downloadable resources and templates. You’ll also complete a capstone project and exam to demonstrate what you’ve learned.

Once you complete all program requirements, you’ll receive an AIHR digital certificate.

Note: AIHR Certificate Programs are different from professional certifications like SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, and SPHR. Rather than testing knowledge you already have, our programs help you build practical HR skills you can use in your work. If you already hold a professional certification, eligible AIHR programs can earn you recertification credits.

What does a Certificate Program include?

Each Certificate Program includes approximately 25–45 hours of online, self-paced learning.

Depending on the program, your learning can include:

  • Video lessons and interactive quizzes
  • Practical assignments and business scenarios
  • Real-world case studies
  • Downloadable templates, tools, and resources
  • Opportunities to connect with other HR professionals in the AIHR community
  • A capstone project and exam at the end of the program

Our learning follows the Tell-Show-Do-Apply method. You’ll first learn a concept, see how it works in practice, practice it yourself, and then apply your learning to realistic HR scenarios.

How can I enroll in a Certificate Program?

If you’re not yet an AIHR member, you can enroll in a Certificate Program during one of our enrollment periods. Enrollment periods open for approximately 10 days every 6-8 weeks.

If you don't want to wait for the next enrollment period, you can purchase Full Academy Access at any time, which gives you immediate access to all AIHR Certificate Programs.

If you’re already a member with Full Academy Access, you can start any Certificate Program at any time and don't need to wait for an enrollment period.

You can learn more about the available membership options on our Pricing page.

Are AIHR Certificate Programs accredited?

AIHR is accredited and recognized by HR organizations worldwide.

AIHR Certificate Programs are recognized by SHRM for Professional Development Credits (PDCs) toward SHRM-CP® and SHRM-SCP® recertification. Eligible programs and learning activities can also earn recertification or professional development credits with organizations including HRCI, HRPA, CPHR, and ATD. CIPD members can record eligible AIHR learning as Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

The number of credits you can earn depends on the program and accrediting organization.

For the latest information about specific accreditations and credits, visit AIHR Recognitions and Accreditations or our Accreditation page.

How do I earn my AIHR certificate?

Once you’ve completed all coursework in your Certificate Program, you can access the capstone, which consists of two parts:

  • Capstone assignment (optional): Apply what you’ve learned to a realistic scenario. The assignment is self-reviewed and isn't graded, but it can help you prepare for the exam.
  • Capstone exam (required): Complete the multiple-choice exam and achieve a score of 70% or higher to earn your certificate. If you don't pass on your first attempt, you can retake the exam.

Once you’ve passed the required capstone exam, you’ll receive your AIHR digital certificate.
