How to claim your SHRM and HRCI Credits

AIHR Certificate Programs can help you earn recertification credits toward professional HR certifications, including SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, and SPHR.

Once you've completed an eligible Certificate Program and passed the final Capstone exam, you can find the information needed to report your credits directly in your learning platform.

Step 1: Find your credit details

Once you've passed the Capstone exam, the Wrap Up section of your program will become available.

In this section, select SHRM & HRCI Credits to find the information you need, including:

• The program's ID number
• The number of credits awarded

You can also keep a copy of your digital certificate as proof of completion if needed.

Step 2: Submit your credits

When reporting your credits to SHRM or HRCI, we recommend submitting the program as a self-paced learning activity and entering the details manually, without using the activity code.

This allows you to adjust the end date to reflect the actual date you completed the program.

For SHRM (Professional Development Credits)

1. Log in to your SHRM certification portal.
2. Go to Add PDCs in your recertification dashboard.
3. Select Self-Paced Learning as the activity type.
4. Manually enter the program details, including its title and the number of PDCs.
5. Leave the activity ID field blank so you can adjust the completion date.
6. Enter the date you completed the program as the end date.
7. Save and confirm your entry.

For HRCI (Recertification Credits)

1. Log in to your HRCI account.
2. Go to My Recertification and select Report Credits.
3. Choose the appropriate credit type.
4. Manually enter the program details.
5. Leave the activity ID field blank so you can adjust the completion date.
6. Enter the date you completed the program as the end date.
7. Submit your entry for review.

Please note: SHRM and HRCI manage their own recertification portals, so the available options and steps may change over time.

How many credits can I earn?

The number of SHRM and HRCI recertification credits varies depending on the Certificate Program you've completed.
